Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 was born in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother as is Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox took classes in piano, flute, and harpsichord at the Royal Academy of Music London for three years in the 70s. Lennox made it through on a student allowance and part-time job in order to earn a living. Lennox when she was at the Royal Academy of Music in London, was disappointed about her performances compared to her fellow students. She began considering different options. Lennox played flute in the band Dragons Playground in 1976. The band did not appear on the competition for talent New Faces on I.T.V. From 1977 to the year 1980 she served as the lead vocalist for The Tourists, a British pop group. She was introduced to Dave Stewart, with whom she would form the pop-duo Eurythmics. After that, Lennox started working on her solo first album Diva and it was made available in the year 1992. It had a tremendous success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs six solo album that was released in October 2014 it was Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. comprises a selection Lennoxs favourite blues and soul jazz tunes from her upbringing. Lepidoptera is a collection of four improvised tracks for piano that Lennox made available in May 2019. The E.P. is an accompanying piece to her installation of art in The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art named Now I Let You Go... This is her first album released independently.
