Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. The character Jackie Harris was played by her mom in both of her two appearances on Roseanne. Her parents did not allow her to perform with her parents till an adulthood stage, because they were concerned about the stress it would cause. Perry was shy during high school and did not act. The actress began her acting career at Northwestern University to gain friends as she transferred from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry went in New York to search for jobs on television, landing small parts in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought her back to California and she was able to find theatre jobs. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway along with her mother. The show was directed by Eugene O'Neill. Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie and Kevin McKidd. This was staged in the West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family. Her father played her character in her role on the ABC drama Scandal. In the same year, she was cast as a younger version of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again playing a young character of her mom's character. The character was assigned by audition even though she was a cousin to the role.
